Ewingar Rising 3-day live music festival to return to the Clarence Valley NSW in April 2022 after rescheduling due to pandemic

The Daily Telegraph, 13 August 2021:

The fundraising festival will reschedule to April 1-3 next year.

When the Covid outbreaks began to creep into regional areas, we figured we’d need to postpone and started our planning,” organiser Nadine Myers said.

The good news is that all but two of the artists who were to play in September have confirmed that they will play at the Festival in April.

There will be some changes to the schedule – with Ash Grunwald playing on the Sunday night, and we’re negotiating some additional surprises and treats for the audience.”

Ewingar Rising brings live music to the beautiful Clarence Valley area and is this small rural community’s way of ‘saying thank you’ to the artists who helped their community raise funds after the area was devastated by the 2019 Black Summer bushfires. Many of those artists who generously played for free then went on to lose gigs during the lockdowns.

We’re hoping that by April – a really beautiful time at Ewingar – we’ll be able to gather safely – and even dance,” Ms Myers said.

Ticket holders can automatically roll over their tickets or request a refund by midnight 31st October 2021.

In the meantime, the organising team is looking at ways to support all the Ewingar Rising artists over the next months. They’ll share these opportunities on the Ewingar Rising Music Festival Events Page on Facebook, and on the website www.ewingarrising.com.au, and welcome suggestions.

We’re really keen to find ways to help these artists who helped us after the bushfires,” organising team member Hayley Katzen said.

Music – and artists – are essential to the wellbeing of our communities – they’re our frontline workers. We’re keen to do what we can to help them survive these financially and emotionally tough times.

We’re also really grateful that the funding bodies are allowing us to roll over the grant money.

With grants from Destination NSW, Healthy North Coast Primary Health Network, Essential Energy, the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, The Yulgilbar Foundation and sponsorship from local business Mountain Blue we are able to pay the artists and offer affordable ticket prices for what will – eventually – be a great weekend.”

Tickets for the 2022 Festival are available through Eventbrite.com.au. Early bird tickets have been extended, and refunds will be available if the event is again postponed.

At this stage, we have decided to keep numbers capped to ensure we can hold a Covid safe event in April 2022”, Ms Myers said.

The Scott Morrison Social Media Experience in 2018: expletives deleted

"QT was on fire today 🔥 Good work, team. https://t.co/M6UWcQO0HU"

Three hours after he posted this tweet on 13 September 2018, Australian Prime Minister and Liberal MP for Cook Scott Morrison deleted it;

Some hours later he apologised for the profanity included in the Fat Man Scoop "Be Faithful" hip hop song, part of which he had embedded in video of that afternoon's HoR Question Time - pleading ignorance.

Remove that dodgy tweet from his Twitter account he may have, but the twitterverse being faster than Morrison's digits meant there was still an echo left on that social media platform:
The reason why the government benches were conspicuous for so many arms upstretched in unison in the video is because, in true tent revival-style, Morrison was asking his colleagues to raise their hands:

I'll ask those on this side of the House: who's ever run a small business here? Here we go! Who's ever worked in the private sector here? Here we go! Who's been a police officer here? Here we go! We've got a police officer up the back. Who is a farmer on this side of the House? We've got some farmers over here. We've got medical practitioners. Who has ever served in the Australian defence forces on this side of the House? The Liberal-National Party is the party of ordinary, everyday Australians going out there every day, having a go and getting a go.

For the record here is the musical choice he doesn't want you to associate with him.....

"Who F#ckin Tonight? Who F#ckin tonight?
Who F#ckin Tonight? Oh!Oh! Who F#ckin tonight?
Who f#ckin Tonight? Who F#ckin Tonight? Oh!Oh!
Stop Playin, Keep It Movin! Stop playin, keep it movin!
Stop playin, keep it movin! Keep movin movin movin movin!
Hey sing along!"
[Fat Man Scoop's "Be Faithfull"]

I'm still wondering which age demographic he was trying to impress. Particularly as these lyrics appear to have originally been penned in 1999.

I am also curious as to why the Prime Minister of Australia chose to ignore the conditions imposed on use of footage of parliamentary proceedings.

In particular 15.12(c) broadcast material may not be digitally manipulated.

As for why the reason Morrison gave for deleting his tweet changed in the following days from inappropriate lyrics to being in breach of parliament's rules on use of video footage, well that is anyone's guess.

Sometimes social media rocks

Rightwing ratbag Senator Cory Bernardi thought he had a great idea – put together a Spotify playlist of songs for Australia Day listening and advertise same on Twitter for the political party he leads…..

The response from singers, songwriters and bands included on that list was not long in coming……………………….

Spotify appeared to get the message……………………….

AUSTRALIA 2015: for those who......

The year doesn’t seem to have started well – each day brings unwelcome news of one kind or another. So here is a little quiet joy for those who: have to go to the ballot box twice this year; cannot bear to hear another politician say “I promise”; despair that they’ll find suitable care for an aging relative; dread the next electricity bill; worry about what the future holds for their unemployed child; found out they need to be hospitalised; are worn down counting the cents at the end of the week and never hundred dollars bills; as well as those silently pleading for a decent break from January’s heat.
